Solinas Integrity Secures $5.5M to Scale Underground Robotics

Solinas Integrity, a climate deeptech startup incubated at IIT Madras, has raised $5.5 million in a Series A1 funding round.

The investment was led by Hero Enterprise Partner Ventures and Mela Ventures, with participation from the Luthra Group. Existing investors, including SBI Ventures, Rainmatter, and 8X Ventures Fund I, also contributed to the round, reflecting continued support for the company’s efforts to modernize critical urban infrastructure.

The fresh capital will help the company expand its robotic inspection technologies as cities increasingly seek safer and more efficient ways to manage aging underground water and wastewater infrastructure.

Robotics for Underground Asset Management

Underground water and wastewater networks are often difficult, hazardous, and costly to inspect manually, making robotic systems an increasingly important solution for modern urban infrastructure management.

Founded by Divanshu Kumar and Moinak Banerjee, the Chennai-based startup specializes in robotics and artificial intelligence systems designed to inspect, clean, and digitize underground water and wastewater networks. These technologies are engineered to address systemic urban challenges such as water leakage, contamination, and the reliance on manual scavenging.

By automating these hazardous and complex tasks, the company aims to improve both worker safety and the long-term resilience of city infrastructure.

Scaling Operations and Global Reach

The company plans to deploy the new capital to scale its operations and deepen its presence across Indian states and municipal corporations.

Beyond its domestic growth strategy, the startup is preparing for an international expansion with a focus on the Middle East and Southeast Asia. These efforts are part of a broader roadmap that targets Rs 100 crore in annual revenue by 2028, driven by its core sanitation business and industrial asset management services.

To achieve these milestones, the company will accelerate the development of next-generation robotic inspection tools and enhance its AI-powered software platforms.

The startup also intends to broaden its industrial solutions portfolio to support its long-term growth strategy. Kumbhat Advisors served as the financial advisor for the transaction.

With the new funding, Solinas Integrity plans to expand the deployment of its robotic inspection technologies, strengthen its AI capabilities, and accelerate its international expansion, positioning the company to modernize underground infrastructure across new markets.
