Simple Energy Raises ₹1,750 Crore in Series C Funding

Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer Simple Energy has raised ₹1,750 crore in its Series C funding round. The investment represents the third-largest funding round among Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturers.

The investment round was led by the Dr Arokiaswamy Velumani Family Office alongside Founder and CEO Suhas Rajkumar, Co-founder and CFO Ankit Gupta, Bengaluru-based high net worth individual Amit Mishra, and the Haran Family Office.

Founded in 2019 by Rajkumar alongside Shreshth Mishra, with Gupta joining later as a co-founder, the enterprise builds electric two-wheelers focusing on affordability, fast charging, and long range. The company currently maintains a production capacity of 10,000 units per month.

Its retail footprint spans over 80 outlets across more than 60 cities, including Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Patna. The firm launched two new models in the eight months preceding the September 30, 2026 announcement, namely the Simple Wave and the Simple Ultra, targeted at the family and performance scooter segments.

Capital Deployment and Growth Plans

Simple Energy intends to direct the capital toward scaling its production lines at the current manufacturing facility, building a new manufacturing plant, and expanding retail and service networks nationwide. The remaining funds will support hiring across key functions and research and development for the next product cycle.

Suhas Rajkumar stated that the company has built core technology, products, manufacturing capabilities, and retail networks in-house over the past few years, and the new round provides capital to scale that foundation.

Dr. A. Velumani, creator of Thyrocare, AVMLabs, and AVMSmiles, noted that the company owns end-to-end technology for the motor, battery, chassis, and software, which is rare in the Indian electric vehicle vertical, adding that the upcoming phase will concentrate on scaling manufacturing, marketing, and retail networks.

Broader Market Context

The latest capital injection follows a ₹250 crore debt and equity round announced in June 2026. With this current Series C round, the total capital raised by Simple Energy to date exceeds ₹2,530 crore.

Several other electric vehicle and mobility companies in India have closed funding rounds in 2026. Ola Electric raised ₹500 crore through a Qualified Institutional Placement in June 2026, and Ather Energy secured ₹1,300 crore through a Qualified Institutional Placement in July 2026.

Additional funding events include Mahindra Last Mile Mobility raising ₹322 crore in July 2026, River Mobility securing $120 million in August 2026, Greaves Electric Mobility raising ₹530 crore in August 2026, Yulu securing $93 million in August 2026, and Omega Seiki Mobility raising ₹50 crore in August 2026. Furthermore, Yuma Energy secured $35 million in September 2026, and Ultraviolette raised $85 million in September 2026.
