Indian Railways Launches ‘SwaRail’ SuperApp: Now Available in Beta Testing

Indian Railways Launches ‘SwaRail’ Super App for Passengers. The app is currently in beta version and will roll out soon. What are the key features of this app will be discussed in this article further.

All in one Railway Platform

The super app was developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), which combined all public offerings onto a single platform.

It reportedly includes features such as ticket booking, platform tickets, PNR inquiries, food ordering, Rail Madad, freight services, and more.

Key Features of the SwaRail Super App

A wide variety of user needs are met by the app, such as:

Easily purchase train tickets for lengthy journeys.

  • Booking Unreserved Tickets and Platform Tickets:

Easily buy tickets for local trains and platforms.

  • Parcel and Freight Enquiries:

Track and handle freight and parcel reservations with Parcel and Freight Enquiries.

  • Train and PNR Status Enquiries:

Unique Features of the Super App

The Super App includes a variety of features aimed at improving user experience by integrating multiple railway services into one seamless platform, as follows:

  • Single Sign-On:

With just one set of login credentials, users can access all services. Additionally, all current Indian Railways apps, including IRCTC RailConnect and UTS Mobile App, will use the same login credentials.

  • All-in-One App:

Currently, multiple apps are required for reserved and unreserved bookings, train schedules, and movement tracking. This Super App consolidates all these services into a single platform.

  • Integrated Services:

Services are being combined to provide thorough information from various sources in a unified and coherent way. For instance, PNR inquiries will also show related train details.

  • Simple Onboarding/Sign-Up:

Using their current RailConnect or UTS Mobile App login information, users can quickly register. To improve the user experience, the sign-up procedure has been made simpler.

  • Ease of Login:

To enhance user experience, a variety of login options have been offered. An m-PIN or biometric authentication can then be used to access the app after logging in.

The Ministry of Railway invites users to try the SuperApp during this beta phase and provide helpful feedback for improvement. This initiative is a significant step toward utilizing technology to improve passenger convenience on trains.

How to Download and Test

Get the app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, log in using UTS Mobile App or RailConnect credentials, and if you are a new user, create a new account, which requires minimal data to register.

The goal of the SwaRail Super App is to improve the intelligence, usability, and efficiency of Indian Railways services. Throughout the beta testing stage, the CRIS team is keeping a close eye on user feedback. Following a thorough review, the Ministry will complete the app’s full rollout.
