AstroTalk has officially reached unicorn status, achieving a valuation of $1 billion. This milestone follows an internal employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) buyback that allowed more than 100 staff members to sell a portion of their holdings.
Unlike many companies that reach this financial threshold through external venture capital, AstroTalk funded the transaction through its own operational profits rather than raising fresh external capital. This marks a significant increase from the approximately $300 million valuation reported for the company in 2024.
Growth and Financial Performance
Puneet Gupta and Anmol Jain established the business in 2017, initially focusing on online astrology consultations. Since then, the firm has broadened its operations into the spiritual commerce sector, offering items such as bracelets, rudrakshas, and gemstones through its dedicated store.
Financial records for the financial year ended March 2025 show a substantial increase in performance, with revenue from operations reaching Rs 1,176 crore. This is a notable rise from the Rs 651 crore reported during the previous year.
Furthermore, the company recorded a total income of Rs 1,214 crore, while profit before tax climbed to Rs 285 crore, up from Rs 127 crore in the prior period. This represents a year-on-year increase of approximately 124%.
The AstroTalk Store has also become an important part of the company’s business. In 2025, the retail division processed over 1.6 million orders, contributing more than Rs 140 crore to the company’s total revenue.
