PM Modi Announces Free AI Training and Exam Coaching for Youth

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced free online coaching for students preparing for competitive examinations. This initiative seeks to reduce the financial burden on families who often struggle with the high costs associated with private coaching centers.

By leveraging India’s existing digital public infrastructure and a network of educators, the government plans to offer these resources to students across the country.

In addition to test preparation, the government is prioritizing artificial intelligence as a core area of focus.

Over the next year, the administration intends to train 10 million young people in AI skills. This effort is designed to prepare the workforce for an industry where job demand is currently growing 75% faster than in non-AI roles.

The broader economic outlook for this technology sector remains significant. The government has highlighted the growing importance of AI as part of its broader technology and economic development plans. As part of a long-term vision, the government has also identified “Yuva Shakti for Viksit Bharat@2047” as a central theme for national development.

The test preparation industry itself continues to expand, with expectations that it will become a $2.9 billion market by 2034. This segment is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 27% from a valuation of $311.8 million in 2025.

Beyond education and training, the government is moving forward with its semiconductor strategy. Prime Minister Modi confirmed that three semiconductor plants are already operational, with plans to bring another seven to eight facilities online within the next one to two years.
